    Beautiful but very difficult walking on stones in arroyo bed or under low brush. Difficult sctamble up, steep and brushy. Probably a better way to go up further down the canyon.

    Start left before crossing the arroyo at village. Follow until sideway tree. Many crossings. Up steep at tree. Loop back down at shack. Probably anpthet way down further, closer to exit. Fairly long but not hard.

    Nice walk along the Rio Laja. Often shaded. Flat. At the end we walked along the old railroad track. This is one way. We set up a shuttle with the cars.

    Beautiful hike. Best canyon for beautiful rocks. But return can be improved. Other side (left) not great either. Best to backtrack in canyon for return.

    The first half is a great hike that follows the creek below the dam and there are lots of trees, birds and cacti. It will be gorgeous when the rains come. Also, likely unpassable after heavy rains.

    OK hike. Not special. Steep climb at beginning. Walk around slot valley pretty rocky, until great views east on Picachos. A bit of a scramble down. Good for cool days because very exposed and no shade.
