Itinerary description
This hike starts near San Miguel off of the road to Alcocer. The trail we follow is actually the Old Picachus Road to the top of the extinct Los Picachus volcano. You have to cross a few fences on the way but otherwise it is a fairly simple hike. Once you reach the tree line at about 7800 feet you are in an oak forest. The end point is an old 'hunting cabin' on a ridge overlooking San MIguel.

One of my favorites. Fairly easy road to follow. Several high fences and gates to climb. Round "yurt" on top and view into the caldera
