A great undulating run through the Waterkloof area. Well organised. The weather helped us on the day as it was overcast.

A flat two lap parkrun through Rose Park and an adjoining field. You need to watch your step in some places.
Cool conditions for the first stage. A bit of rain just before the start. Mostly single track through the forests. Fairly easy running. Two big climbs on the route. One river crossing just after the start.
Great off road through the Entabeni Reserve. A tough up hill climb. Can't decide if its worse going down or coming up.

Lovely scenic run through the various Halls farms. From sugar cane to horses. 10km relatively flat, mostly dirt or farm roads.
Johannesburg is one of the main cities in SA. it's also one of the most violent cities in the world. In this track we started in our hotel, Voco, and turned to the right. Then we continued and took the third on the righ...
A route with a few twists and turns that can cause confusion. They have well marked signs that indicate the route quite well. As long as you know where you are on the route it should be fairly easy to follow. Maybe becau...
This is the route that will be used whilst the reserve is out of bounds. It seems to be quicker than the normal route with some PB's. I think it is slightly easier especially when overtaking because we get to run on a ...
A very cold morning, especially when compared to last week in Skukuza. A fairly easy route with only one real hill which you have to negotiate twice. It comes at the start of each lap. There is also a bridge over the N1...
One of the easier half marathons that I have done. A bit of uphill for the first two kilometers of each lap but then its gently down for the remainder of the lap. The second lap they make you do an extra block which invo...
I wouldn't rate this as one of my favourite parkruns. It is way too congested. Not just with people doing the parkrun but all the other people you have to share the path with. We had great weather and it was nice to have...
Good thing this race starts at 5:30am. Cool and misty on the Atlantic coastline. Started heating up near the 36 and 42km split. Out and back section not too bad but from the turnaround you basically start the Red Hill cl...
Pirates races are never easy. With this race you climb for most of the first half and then if you have the energy left you can sprint down the hills to the finish. A race that is fairly easy to run a negative split. Bew...
The route is run in an anti clockwise direction. The start is downhill on a tar road but soon you end up running on a dirt road along the outskirts of the golf course. The is a short section of fairly soft sand on the "...
A marathon that takes you though the streets of Welkom and then onto the road to Odendaalsrus, You run around the town and then start back to Welkom via the Phakisa road. Fairly flat lonely running (unless you take a bud...
This run, in Middelburg, was previously known as Shanduka Coal 5-in-1. It still starts and finishes at the same venue. The route has changed since I last did the 32km in 2013. The route now stays in the suburbs. For the...
Hills, hills and more hills. 3rd Avenue Linden is a tough climb when you are tired. At least the last 3km are mostly downhill. There is a 15km option. Some people do not do the loop around the Zoo and at Jan Smuts turn ...
Slightly different start to this year's race so that we did not have to do the loop at the end. Great idea. Weather a bit better than last year. Well organised and worth the trip. Take it easy in the first half and the...
A fairly easy half marathon run mainly through industrial area. If you want a scenic run then don't do this one. No real hills on this route.
A great run in the Upington area. Although its an 8-9 hour drive from Jhb its worth the trip. Maybe make a long weekend out of it. The race is mainly on dirt roads. The first half is practically flat as you run on Kanone...
A misty morning made this race very bearable. An undulating out and back from Standerton on the Leandra road. Potholes are quite bad. Well organised and worth the trip from Johannesburg.
There are enough hills in Witbank. Two laps with the biggest climb at about 3km and 11km. Well organised race.
Easy running around Cape Town soccer stadium in the park around the stadium. Park at Greenpoint cricket club.
They have changed the route at Shongweni parkrun. You do two identical laps. Most of the run is now on single track paths with very little opportunity to overtake. The few open stretches need to be used if you don't wan...
