    I did this hike just after a flash flood, so it was rather wet and there were a lot of side trails that were buried or hidden by debris. Not to mention the quicksand-like mud in the river bed! It's a wonderful wild hike....

    This is a wonderful loop, both the handprints and ruins happen on the first section, so you can shorten the mileage. Getting to the ruins requires a bit of scrambling.
