The hike starts behind a car park just before reaching Ambleside. We took the ferry to Ambleside as we had parked our car in Bowness for the day.

Icy and treacherous ascent and descent over Wansfell Pike. Views are stunning so it’s worth it. Best to do in Summer and not November around 0c! A moderate trail that’s difficult / treacherous when icy.
