    A tough run from Le Tour up to Col de Balme, Croix de Fer & Albert 1er hut (with a small detour up a ridge near Col de Balme). Hard climb, hard descents and technical terrain throughout but still very very enjoyable.

    This was part of the Cairn guided trek. Madeline was an excellent guide. Rained heavily in the last bit. I managed it well. Moderately difficult but a long day! Stopped at the Hotel de la Forclaz.
