After reading all the insane, idiotic news from the evil media, I was happy just to get 30 minutes of peace.

After not riding for over six weeks due to the weather in Alaska, it is sooo nice to ride in the hills of home in the great Texas weather!
I was surprised to see the outside temperature was 63 and I knew I had to ride. How often is the temp the same as your age?
When I saw the temperature was 74F, I decided to get back to regular morning rides. Like last time, this one felt easy and not very fast.

I made no effort to ride hard and log a low time. I just wanted a personal best time on a short segment on the far hill.
I completed the 11 mile course on the single speed bike without deviations. Working around school buses requires some timing and sequencing.
After years of gathering dust, I pulled my Dawes Single Speed bike out the garage and had a wonderful ride on a very comfortable bike.
After a three day rest, I thought I would be tired, but I felt good after just a few minutes and powered through a fast ride!
I just wanted to break 30 minutes on this ride. I'm sure it would have been faster had there not been a headwind.
People are out early again this year, so I'll have to stay alert for trucks, buses and idiots in cars...
I waited until it was warm at noon to ride and for some reason, I pushed myself hard and nearly burned out in the first mile.
After the hard ride three days ago, I needed an extra day off to recover. Today was a good effort and I cut a whole minute off my usual time for this loop!
Lots of hills and narrow roads. This is a annual ride for the Lubbock Bike Club. Find the next date at www.bikewtca.org

This Long Flat Farm road has wide shoulders and is a popular training route for road racers and Triathletes.
70 miles in the city and in the county. Plenty of flats and canyons. The distance and unpredictable winds makes this route difficult.
Great ride and great scenery. Only one climb out of a small but steep wash. Watch for muledeer and rattlesnakes they both call this land home.
This Route is long and Flat. The wind desides how tough the ride will be. Most of this route is on county two lane and has a decent shoulder.
This Is a shorter route through the flat plains south of Lubbock. Like most routes around West Texas the wind determines the difficulty.
This route will take you to Horseshoe bend road via the half Ironman route. Flat land with wind and canyons.
