Valdo Rocha

Valdo Rocha

Born in Jequié (Bahia-Brazil), he moved with his parents to Anta, Sapucaia district in the interior of Rio de Janeiro in the early 70's, where he spent his childhood. As a teenager, at the beginning of the 80's, he began to feel attraction for the beautiful images published in the magazines of the time, as well as for the photographs of the collection of his father, who in his youth had owned a camera. Since then he has taken photography as his instrument of communication with the world. And using it as an art and medium of expression, he began to experience eye contact always seeking to capture the essence of the people he photographed, be they people, urban or rural landscapes. In 2010 he participated as a volunteer in Operation Rei do Baião, in the municipality of São José do Belmonte, in the caatinga region of the sertão of the state of Pernambuco, where he had the mission of photographic registration of the entire operation. Currently he has collaborated as a photo reporter in the registry of some activities for the journals of the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro on the campus of Três Rios, where he is graduating from the administration course. "Photography is for me, as philosophy is for philosophers, that is, it is the source of joy, study, expression. After I started taking pictures regularly, I have taken a closer look at everything around me. " (Valdo Rocha) Last Exhibition: From November 04 to December 11, 2016 at the Cultural Space of Olga Sola Shopping in Três Rios, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
