    A pleasant loop where finding the trail in the Basin Lakes area can be difficult. Navigating in snow I lost the trail several times. The ascent of Gifford Peak is off trail.

    This is a really nice hike up to an old fire lookout post overlooking the Trapper Creek wilderness. It rewards you with excellent views of Mt. Adams, Mt. Rainier and Mt. St. Helens. You should be able to see Mt. Hood too...
