A lovely tour, but with a long approach to the main ski face, and some exposure on the ridge line. Note that dogs are not allowed in Little and Big Cottonwood Canyons but they are allowed in Mill Creek canyon.
3.0Loop goes past overlook and winds back around to Thayne's canyon. Lots of dogs down low. Big cat tracks up top. It's about 4.3 to the trail merge of upper desolation and the Thaynes Canyon trail.
