This is a hike up Shaw Butte from the North Mountain Visitor Center, just north of Thunderbird Ave on 7th Street. The visitor center has plenty of parking and restrooms.
Phoenix Mountains: The hike starts at 36th Street and goes off trail to the ridge line and up to Peak 2429. It is mostly off trail so there is a fair bit of scrambling.
