    Our favourite hike in gargellen. Also possible (and easier) other way round. Public transport from Gaschurn back took about an hour, including waiting on a terrace with a deserved beer in St. Gallenkirch. Up to Vergal...

    It was rainy and slippery. First part is tougher than the second part. The route was blocked by a baustelle: no detour suggested so we ignored the signs and just walked on.

    Gargellen village to riedkopf. Steep long climb to riedkopf, 3hrs. To bergbahn, 1,5 hrs. local brochures advise the other way, but this way route was (also) fantastic. Depends on your fitness.
