The famous trail with some modifications due to construction and new farm locations and a cut through the dam village
About 70% of the trail is taken from the Arabian Epic Race which was designed by Frankie Boton. The remaining additional piece of trail is the popular big bridge run. This is a great introduction to Shawka trail with a f...
This is a great route to get you introduced to the Shawka trails. 1. Gear: Personally, I suggest that you use a bike that has a tubeless tyre set up as thorny bushes are everywhere! I ride a full suspension bike but i...
Mountain biking 40km loop: - Fast and fun graded tracks in narrow wadis with plantations! - You'll have some sections of tarmac road in between small villages (but not too long) if you want to do the loop. - Tough STE...
A great hint to help you choose your outdoor gear and clothing!

Photo: start and finish point. A good long MTB ride. Open flowing trails that. Very important to stay on course and follow the GPS directions but relativly easy to navigate. Enjoy
From Junction 119 on Emirates (E311) take the truck road towards Dibba, carry on over the roundabout towards Dibba and take the turn-off for Al Tawaian. Keep going straight on this road to Tawaian itself and after the sm...
Map coordinates N25'33.648' and E056'05.377'. Car park off road under lone tree just plus of the disused electricity sub station. Anticlockwise is by far the best way around this trail. Great ride for novice riders and t...
Bike & Hike I took my bike, big mistake. On foot this trial would be easy. On two wheels its too much walking the bike. My phone heated up so also couldn't take more pics. Thats mid day in mid April!
Windy conditions made the ride quite challenging but the trail system offers infinite possibilities. Be ready to explore as there is no indications!
A path beside Sheikh Khalifa Road. A nice flat ,good for enjoying and exercising. Multiple trail and open lands
Along the paved walkway and then onto some hard pack sand and dirt. Pretty flat and great view at the end or half way point
This is a great intro to the terrain around the shawka trails without worrying about getting lost because the route is pretty much straight up the valley with only two or three places where you need to make a turn. Yo...
Borrowed from strava Showka ride from dam, 22km. From car park head straight over roundabout and continue in that direction until your GPS picks up the route.
Another route to get you introduced to the Shawka trails. 1. Gear: Personally, I suggest that you use a bike that has a tubeless tyre set up as thorny bushes are everywhere! I ride a full suspension bike but it can be...
Hudayriyat Island Auh MTB I rode my MTB on the Bridge section only as the other track was being painted. Good area for cycling with various options of distances of cycling.
Mixed trail- off-road along with tile ride and some asphalt ride. There are nice cascades for hoping. However wind is really strong.
Cycling at Ajman Corniche. Although there is dedicated cycling lane, lots of people obstruct the lane and free pace cycling is restricted, so I stopped cycling in this area.
Start and finish at the Shawka Dam. A good route as an introduction to riding Shawka. You'll most likely need a good level of fitness and a decent bike, preferably full suspension although it can be done on a hard tai...

Here's a quick challenge to keep your enthusiasm up. This route is also linked to Strava and is recorded as a Strava Segment.
Very few technical sections but a couple of sharp climbs here. I took a wrong turn at the end looking for the wadi finish.
From Masfoot to Hatta, weather was good but a bit windy on return adding some challenging resistance.
Nice signed trails from easy to technical. 'Road Map' available for download or as hard copy. Bike rental at Hubbers. All kinds of MTBs available. Unfortunately I had no time to take pics of the trails...
Don’t follow the route I downloaded. Half way round have to climb up and down mountains with the bike
