Start off near the Isle of Capri Fire Station, head into Johnson Bay then across into the mangroves. Meander through the mangroves for a little then return.
Cool. There is a slight remnant of smoke. Light wind. Some activity. Best of all there were lots of nice landscapes and natural activity.

This was a Level II paddle of about eight miles. We launched from the Capri Paddle Park and paddled through the Woods, a maze of mangrove passages into Johnson Bay and back into the Woods and back to the put in.
6½ statute miles (about 4 hours or less) through beautiful mangrove islands. Birds, fish, mollusks, dolphins, and manatees all possible.
Ways through The Woods across from Capri may vary. This route likely would be best with at least 2.4 ft tide.
A little of both...mangrove tunnels and open water. The woods has many shoals so best done on the upper end of an outgoing tide.
This is a short loop through the mangroves from the paddle park launch and back. Designed to take beginners out for a couple of hours and stay out of the open water.
