Pioneer Cabin Trail A lot of steep switchbacks, and no water for horses beyond the trail access, except a couple of trickling springs. So, we made frequent stops to rest our horses.

Garvin 9.16.23. We actually rode almost 4 hours & closer to 8 miles. Thought I had It on when leaving camp; but later noticed it wasn't on.
From hunt camp, this trail takes Grapevine to Buzzard Drive, crosses Burnt Cabin and travels down Airstrip Rd to the Dogwood Trail. Then Dogwood to Burnt Cabin, left on BC to camp/finish.
Short cut turned long; training Charlie to go alone; further than he ever has. It was very hard for Charlie; but eventually he decided to trust his rider. Accidentally forgot to end it when we arrived!

Went from parking area at stables, behind employee lodging to trailhead. Fist time with Pisco alone up here. Also first time I left lu at cabin alone.
