Starta på toppen av Slettefjell. Gjekk vestover forbi Skræmetindane og vidare til Rysntjedn. Gjekk ned i Herredalen og følgde vegen utover dalen. Svinga av og gjekk DNT-sti nedatt til bygda, Heensgardane.
Parker bilen ved brua over Mugna (Slettefjellvegen). Følg merka sti. Ca. 2 timar gange til toppen. (uten pause) Steinrøys på slutten. (merka med kvit V) Utsikt mot tinderekka i Jotunheimen.
Starta i Herredalen ved gangbrua over Rysna. Gjekk opp til vatnet Tjørebytta og vidare til Mjellknapp. Det er merka sti til Mjellknapp (Kvite V'ar måla på stein) Gjekk bortom Møsåkerkampen og nedatt langs elva Heensån...
