Itinerary description
Ran along de road from Úlfsstaðir to the start of the trail just past the Grófargerði farm. From there it was a bit tricky to find the beginning of the path due to roadworks for the new bridge. I found a little ladder across the fence, and after about 1km uphill through marshy grassland I found the trail and continued south into the Hjálpleysa valley. There are no trail markers, but the path was easy to follow all the way up to Valtýshellir. I took the same route down.
