Itinerary description
A trail run along the famous Kings trail in northern Sweden. Before arriving to Abisko Mountain Station by bus from Kiruna you have a beautiful view of the Lapponian Gate.
Abisko Mountain Station is the start of this trail run that takes you 35 km into the swedish wilderness.
The first half goes through the Abisko National Park and a good place for lunch break is at the Abiskojaures cabins. The terrain is with few altimeters and moderate technical difficulty.
During the second half you leave the Abisko National Park and continue south with increasing altimeters and tougher terrain. Still the technical difficulty is moderate.
The destination of the trail run becomes visable from about 2 km away at the end of lake Pajemus Alesjaure.
Prebook bed and stay at Alesjaure mountain cabin over the night, take a shower and enjoy the sauna. Continue the next day with the trail run "Alesjaure mountain cabin to Sälka mountain cabin".
