Itinerary description
One of the most popular hikes in Saxon Switzerland. The hike is circular, starting at the parking lot next to Falkenstein-Hütten, some meters after the small village of Ostrau.
This route penetrates into Saxon Switzerland National Park forests with their characteristic sandstone formations. It offers the possibility to enjoy the spectacular Schrammstein view, the picturesque gorges of Schießgrund, Wilde Hölle and Eulentilke, as well as to visit Carolafelsen.
Some parts of the trail require easy rock climbing, sometimes it is enough with the use of the hands but some points are also equipped with metal steps and iron holders.

Very good track. We went for the journey with kids (8 & 12). There are only couple places were support was required to pass some climbs - I would advise to wear decent treking shoes. Beautifully scenery and lots of shade even on sunny day.
