Itinerary description

We have visited the Barva Volcano sector. This sector has 4 trails:
- Laguna Barva Trail: runs for 3 Km from the park’s gate to the viewpoint, it is the main trail and leads to Laguna Barva, which was once the crater of the volcano.
- Cacho Venado Trail: over 1800 m long, it is a section that splits from the Laguna Barva trail and ends later on the same trail.
- Laguna Copey Trail: over 2 Km from the Laguna Barva trail to Copey Lagoon.
- Mirador Vara Blanca Trail: over 900 meters long, it takes you from the Laguna Barva trail to the Mirador Vara Blanca, where, if the clouds allow it, you have a good view of the valley and the Poas volcano in the background.
The trails are generally in quite good condition, except for the final stretch of the Laguna Copey trail that has a little more slope and especially in rainy season could pretty mud.
