Itinerary description
There are several ways to go to Jomsom from Muktinath. We decided to do the side trek to Jarkhot and then follow the road to Kagbeni and then to Jomson.
Jarkhot is a loveky little village 40 minutes away from Muktinath. We had tea in a beautiful guesthouse called Himalaya Hotel which appeared to be much better than the ones found in Muktinath.
The road to Kagbeni goes through a much drier landscape. The village lies at the end of a canyon and is a good place to stop for lunch. It has the ancient ruins of an old tibetan building.
Jomsom can be reached in around two hours following the road from Kagbeni. It was very windy, which make the trek a bit unpleasant. Consider taking the bus from Kagbeni if you are not wearing sunglasses.
