Itinerary description
An excellent circular walk through the stunning limestone scenery of the Yorkshire Dales national park. From Malham, well maintained and marked trails take you first to the waterfall of Janet's Foss before delivering you into the awesome Gordale Scar. A short scramble up a waterfall within the ravine of Gordale Scar earns this walk a moderate rating for technical difficulty - the easiest way up is left of the waterfall. However, to avoid queuing at busy times, if you are confident tackling low grade scrambles, take the harder right hand side. The rest of the route is very easy. Signposts make it difficult to get lost and ice cream vans provide welcome refreshment on a hot day. From Gordale Scar, the route continues towards Malham Tarn, before heading back towards Malham via the awesome Malham Cove, with its sheer limestone cliff and famous limestone pavement.

Is this route ok to do clockwise instead, as I’d like to finish with a dip in Janet’s Foss?..
