Itinerary description

This trek was formerly also known as trek of the orchids. It's really impressive to wander up in tunnels of cloud forest, where you can admire different flowers, animals and much more. The trek starts at the check point of the Ministry of Environment in Pondoa at 2.800 m, to here you can hike up from Banos or simply go by car (4x4 recommended).
The trek takes you from there, 4 km and 1000 m in positive elevation gain along to Tungurahua Refuge at 3.800 m altitude.
