Itinerary description
Start from Galena Park Visitor Center.. hike up Jones Creek for 0.7 mile to the intersection..
If you turn left, you will be heading to Church's Pond..
This outing.. we will be going right for 1.5 miles to get to Whites Creek Trail.
Now at the junction of the Whites Creek and Jones Creek.. you have the choice of doing the Dry Pond loop clockwise or counterclockwise. The loop is roughly 6.8 miles.
Doing the loop counterclockwise is preferred. But in the heat of the summer, I think doing the look clockwise would allow you to get through the exposed area in the coolness of the morning and the shade of the Thomas Creek Trail later on.
