Itinerary description
Difficulty
Physical: moderate
Danger: Easy
Duration: 3 - 4,5 h
Water: 2 lt
The trail starts from the village of Filoti following an asphalt road E-SE. There is a sign on the left indicating the off road trail. From there it moves about 20-30 min on a relatively flat terrain before it starts ascending for about an hour to 90 min (depending on your physical condition). In the middle you can find the Zeus cave where, according to Greek mythology, Zeus spent his childhood hiding from his father Kronos. The uphill route is relatively steep but not dangerous. The view from the summit is wonderful, especially if you arrange to arrive during the sunset (hint: take a wind stopper because it is usually windy). Then the trail descends following the trail towards Agia Marina. This part is less steep and easier to follow (although, if you do it after the sunset it might be a bit problematic to follow, I had to improvise a bit at some parts, as it was night when I was returning. Nothing difficult but, better make sure you have the GPX file on your mobile. Otherwise, maybe you want to follow the asphalt road to Filoti).

Ascension très difficile tant au niveau technique que physique.. Le retour vers filoti c'est du grand n'importe quoi.... Mieux vaut faire l'aller retour que "suivre" l'itinéraire circulaire proposé !
