Itinerary description
This linear trail leads you through fantastic scenery and natural beauties, as well as two medieval fortresses, actually their remains can be seen.
Don’t be disappointed by the short distance, the trail is quite versatile and demanding sometimes - you have to ford a mountain river a few times, go through two splits and scramble almost vertical rock.
We got to the trailhead from Tbilisi and back by a taxi.
SEASON: the trail is walkable almost all year round, there is enough shade for hot summer days with exception of one climb which is exposed to the sun. As well one should keep in mind the level of snow in winter and of water in the river in spring.
TERRAIN: very different and diverse - narrow paths, rocks, forest paths, boulders, river crossing, etc. With the overall ascending trajectory, ascents and descents come in turns. In the very last part of the trail one has to scramble a very steep rock, no chains or anything to support. We managed to do it half way, still it’s possible to do the whole way up.
SIGNS: there are a few signs in the beginning, however later they disappear. Especially when there are intersections, you won’t find any help.
KIDS: definitely not for little kids, from 10 yo should be fine but kids should better be trained.
Parking is possible at the trail start.

A great trail with gorgeous scenery, but it sometimes becomes too steep - I wouldn’t recommend hiking here for not-trained people

Very nice trail, quite easy to follow - and to hike, except for the last rocky part which is more difficult, especially when going back down. Beautiful views.
@Denis Pilin and @Elias Braun, thank you very much for review!

It’s rather hard, but not so much if you have tracking boots👌🏻
We walked this rout in May. Track isn’t marked, but there some thin roads plus we used map.
We didn’t reach the highest place — third gates; this way was really hard for me without some additional equipment.
Track is wonderful, very beautiful forest, canyon, small river. It’s really small and you can force it. Thanks to people that put some logs and stones 🙌🏻
I had a feeling of adventure
Thank you @Aleanef for the comment. I would appreciate if you rate the trail as well.

We did this trail on August 27th 2023, with these instructions as well as another map app the trail wasn't too hard to find. Conditions were good, river bed was 90% dry so no real river crossing.
Great trail, the squeeze points were very enjoyable. We did do the last gate even without equipment which was a bit scary but doable. The trail itself is moderately hard with the last bit upping the difficultly due to the need to climb.
A very nice dog we named Birt came all the way up with us (even the last part) which was very sweet. If you see him or his colleagues be sure to share your affection and treats and they will guide you kindly.
Thank you Marianna_on_trail for your detailed documentation, it made our trip.
The rout is cool, thanks, dont forget to take your tracking sneakers, guys.
And also please bring some snacks for doggos, they are very nice and kind💜
@Puss Helza, thanks a lot for your comment, I would appreciate its rating as well.
