Itinerary description
Yes, this is a walk through Beerze territory. On the map we saw and walked along Kleine Beerze, Grote Beerze, Beerze and Omleidingskanaal Beerze.
Around 80 to 85% of this trail is along waters, either canals or meandering streams, wide as well as narrow, and mangrove-like fields.
Starting from a big car park near the chapel of the holy oak (Heilige Eik) there are two connected loops. From the pictures you'll get a good impression of the variety of landscapes you cross on this trail.
Especially interesting would be to go here when the rhododendrons are in bloom as there was one tree-lined lane where we came across abundant (and tall) rhododendrons bushes.
Much of the trail crosses the Baest estate (Landgoed Baest).
NB
See the Intersection waypoint "turn right here" and study the picture.
Don't follow the narrow track to the left of a small picturesque water stream, as we did.
Take a right turn to here in order to find the road that takes you back to the chapel and car park.
We had to take a detour, as you'll see on the map, south of the chapel, because near the end we couldn't cross a stream (no bridge there!), so we had to make our way across the undergrowth and bushes and along a field, to find a track that could get us across a bridge. Not recommended unless you like adventures.
It's easy to avoid this complication near the end, by turning right towards the road.
