We did this trail.
We went up by taxi. But it seems you can also go by yellow buses (brand Bogdan) from the shopping center Batumi Plaza along the Sameba- Salibauri route. At 12:00. I got this information from the Batumi-Ajara guidebook.
The Sameba church up hill is interesting. They give everone a skirt before entering the church. Women als a headscarf.
The views from the church and also walking down are wonderful. You will see Batumi and the surrounding hills spotted with houses.
The walk is easy, on paved roads.
I once had a funny moment. I landed at the gate which was closed. There appeared to be many signs indicating what's allowed and what's not.
So a shorts wasn't allowed. But even a full trouser also wasn't allowed. I was confused and called one of my Georgian colleagues whether to enter or not. She told me the instructions were for ladies to wear conventional skirts and not trousers 😆
