Itinerary description
Starting from the Sanctuary of Arantzazu designed by Jorge Oteiza we take the path following the GR-286 to the Urbia fields taking the PR-3006 at the diversion. The landscape is simply ... stunning.
In Urbia we stop at the Fonda to have lunch. No need to carry food. We do though. The Fonda serves excellent “combined plates”.
The weather is rainy and starts to be foggy so some of us decide not to go up to Aizkorri summit, which is 1h15’ away.
To go back to the sanctuary we follow the usual route, shorter and easier.

The start is quite steep. Once you get out of the forest, the views are fantastic. The track to Urbia is marked with white-yellow stripes. The way back from Urbia folows the GR track. An easy descent back to the sanctuary.
