Itinerary description
Moving Time: 3h 20 mins
Distance: 15 kms
The trail starts from Apollonia and follows the charted path to Agios Simeon.
The church is very interesting and the view from the top is amazing.
With Serifos on one part and Paros and Antiparos on the other, Kamares beneath your feet and Artemonas and Apollonia on the background, one can see almost everything there is to see in the area...
The returning path moves downhill on the slope of the mountain without following a specific trail (about 1300m, from 6,4 km to 7,7 km) until it reaches the dried river that leads to a charted path to Agia Anna and Artemonas.
One has to cross a small forest of low cypress (kind off) trees and jump a number of stone walls to reach there. So, if one is not interested in having an adventure, it is recommended to follow the initial trail back to Apollonia or search for another path.
One needs about 1h 25 minutes (with a relatively fast pace to get to Agios Simeon) and about 2h to return (due to the trees and the uncharted path while coming down from Agios Simeon).
Enjoy
