Itinerary description
An easy trail to an uncharted path. The main problem is, as it is the case in many places at the Cretan countryside, that there are many fences which one should find a way to cross in order to continue (usually, it is not something difficult but it has to be mentioned...).
The real length of the trail is about 12.5 kms. Due to a problem with the GPS device, the trail was not recorded between the 2nd and the 4th kilometer, as a result the recorded trail is shorter. One can, however, follow the return path which is similar.
The view from the chapel of Ascension (Analipsi) is very beautiful with Psiloritis on the one side and Diktis on the other.
As one can see in the photos the sunset is breathtaking.
The return was done night time wearing a headlamp on and with no particular difficulty.
