==== ATTENTION! ====
THIS IS NOT A CONTINUOS TRACK RECORDING. The real distance can be MUCH LONGER than the recorded one. The vertical distance (up and down) can be longer, too. USE A MAP to follow the route described below. For hiking trails, I used the 山と高原池図App. I tried to remember switching on GPS tracking on all points that are critical for finding the right way. Where GPS tracking was not active, a straight line is displayed instead of the real path.

==== CONTEXT ====
This track concatenates 33 other tracks named "2023JP 01 ..." to "2023JP 33 ...". They are for a series of 33 walks that connect Tokyo, at the Pacific Ocean, with Joetsu, at the Sea of Japan, passing near Mount Fuji. Done from 29th of September until 1st of November 2023. These walks are partly on roads, partly on mountain trails. I carried no camping equipment. Accommodation was mostly in hotels, Ryokan and similar, and in 2 mountain huts.

==== REAL TIMES & ROUTE ====
For details see the individual tracks for each day. The first 12 walks go from Tokyo westwards to the area of Mount Fuji. Walk 01 and walk 02 are in Tokyo, walk 06 arrives at Mount Tanzawa, walk 12 at Kawaguchiko, the only place where I made a rest and stayed two nights. I did not climb mount Fuji. Walk 13 to walk 33 go northwards from Mount Fuji to the Sea of Japan at Naoetsu in Niigata prefecture along a route further east than the Japanese Alps.

==== FIRST PLANNING ====
A few days before leaving Europe, I tried to reserve hotels for the first 9 nights (Friday to Sunday). Reservation problems made my change my first planning.
For the first 6 walking days, from Tokyo to Mount Tanzawa, originally I planned to stay at Miyagase Lake 宮ヶ瀬湖 at the end of walk 05. However, I found no accommodation for single travellers there. This made me change the planning for dates 2 to 5 to a route via Kawasaki, Yokohama and Isehara. With the original planning, the 02 afternoon (PM) walk would have been from Tokyo station via Shibuya and further northwest.
Instead of walking through the village of Yadoriki in the morning (km 5 to 6) of walk 08, the original planning was to sleep there at the end of day 07 with no detour to Hadano (where I stayed in a Love Hotel). However, the first accommodation I called in Yadoriki referred me to a second one. I called the second one, but it was not for single travellers.
Instead of staying in Gotemba at the end of walk 09, the original planning was to stay near the Fuji Speedway, but my attempts to book any of 2 accommodations in that area failed due to mistakes of mine.
I discarded walking directly from Tanzawa Lake (08) to Yamanakako (10) because I had doubts if certain routes shown in the 山と高原App were open.

==== FINAL PLANNING ====
For walk 24 (23Oct) to TAKAMINE KOGEN, walk 25 (24Oct) TSUMAGOI and walk 27 (26Oct) YOKOTEYAMA, I could not book hotels where I planned. For this reason tracks 2023 JP 24, 25, 27 and also 28 and 29 are different from the SECOND PLANNING.
During walk 01 from Haneda airport to Tokyo station, a toe of my right foot started to hurt after just 2 hours and I had a painful blister at the end of the day (the same day I had arrived after a 2h + 13h flight which might have put my feet into a bad starting condition). As planned, I took a train from Tokyo station to a hotel at Shiomi and the next morning a train to the Diamond and Flowers ferris wheel at the KR park. The plan for walk 02 on the morning (AM) was to walk from there back to Tokyo Station (and 02PM from there further NW though Tokyo in the FIRST PLANNING). Because of my bad toe, I skipped that walk and went by train.

Offline, the 山と高原 maps cover only hiking areas and their surroundings. Online they also provide detailed maps of other areas.
