Visit the ice cave of Ghetarul Scarisoara, with a short walk from the small village of Ghetari. The entrance to the cave costs 13 lei per person, which includes an explanation in Romanian of the guardian about the geology and the history of the cave. The entrance to the cave is at the bottom of a chasm 40m deep, which are saved with slippery stairs that must be lowered very carefully.
Inside there is a large ice lake, on which we walk along wooden footbridges, which take you to the bottom of the cave, where there are spectacular ice formations, called the Church, with stalactites and stalagmites.
