Itinerary description
Karlaan waterfall is a small waterfall near Abbottabad.
It's a little away from the Harnoi and nearby Bagnotar. There is a small road that leads to the village of Karlaan.
When you go on that road from Murree road, there is a small bridge.
many families and people spend their day near the water stream around that bridge. Some people had brought the food from home, and some were preparing barbecue.
The forest above it had caught fire. I wondered if allowing barbecue there was a good idea. I saw couple of police men there, but they did not forbid people from starting the fire. It's 2 kilometer from the main road. At the end of the road there is parking available and a small shop for snacks.
From there you will have to walk in the water stream. i would suggest you take sandals with you as you have to walk in the water which is only 3-6 inches deep. Saw many boys and girls walking on the stones and they were uncomfortable. After a 5-10 minutes walk you will arrive at the water fall.
It's a small but powerful waterfall. that created a very small pond under it. Strange enough, pond is not deep at all, it's barely 2-3 feet deep at max. As the pond is small, it can not house many people at the same time. I would suggest you to take a quick dip and let others enjoy.
There is a big pipeline going around the waterfall. Due to humidity, many stones are slippery so be careful.
There are a lot of families there too, to be respectful .
Once thing that totally disappointed me was the garbage there.
Everywhere we saw there were lots of wrappers, plastic bags and even food left overs in their single use boxes.
Please bring back what you take with you. And keep out country clean.
