Itinerary description
Papua Rain forest Conservation
“Coraculture Environmental is focused on providing high-quality land use planning, monitoring and management for land owners, indigenous groups and public land areas. Coraculture© uses a wide minded approach to land management, while not restricting ourselves to traditional conservation and agricultural methods, but using innovative approaches and the latest science to provide sustainable solutions. With a variety of capabilities to choose from, we can design highly sustainable and environmentally compatible land management plans, establish the plants and structures in the plan, help grow the system, and monitor its progress. A mixture of agriculture, forestry and the native plants and animals of an area is central to our approach. We aim to provide habitat to at least 50% of native species in our systems. In protected areas, we can provide the latest conservation techniques as well as designing prescribed burning regimes, eco-forestry planning and sustainable wildlife harvesting. We can undertake biodiversity and vegetation surveys, environmental impact assessments, soil and water tests, design and establish re-vegetation projects and wildlife corridors, timber plantations, food forests, natural weed mitigation, alternative erosion control, innovative natural irrigation approaches and drought proofing techniques, designing land management to mitigate the effects of tropical cyclones and complex forest carbon calculations.
We are educated to the highest level in ecological science, biology and land management. Our founder, Daniel Collins, has decades of experience in many countries in environment and ecology related fields. The Coraculture approach is to use a blend of ecology and agriculture to improve farming and land management efficiency and sustainability. We only have one earth, so we need to get it right…”
