Today we are early, we get up at 6:30am because we want to leave at 7:00am to go to the ferry, which according to the website leaves at 9:30am.
When we get to the counters we see that they don't open until 9:00am and that the ferry to Satun (Thailand) leaves at 10:30am so we take the opportunity to have breakfast at Starbucks.
We buy the ferry tickets which cost us €14 per head including the bike.
We pass customs controls and board. The journey takes 1h:30m, and they let us stay on deck (I think they make an exception for us because we bring our bikes) since it's decked, there are no other passengers. The ferry ride is pretty cool.
When we arrive at the port, we queue up to go through customs control, we're there for about 30-40 minutes, it's quite slow, but since there's free wifi we take the opportunity to book the hotel.
We start the route following the Maps.me track to go to Ban Pak Bara, which is where we booked the hotel.
When we've gone about 20km we're hit by a heavy downpour, we take refuge in an old restaurant stand and when it starts to stop we go about 8km more to go have lunch at a restaurant we've seen on Maps.me.
It is the typical street restaurant with native cuisine and as always very cheap, we dine for €2.50 per head.
At the end we continue the route, we have about 45 km left and after a while it rains heavily again. This time we only stop for a while to protect the mobile phone and pedal in the rain until we reach the hotel where we arrive soaked... fortunately, the temperature is so high that you don't catch a cold.
