SPORTS: CYCLING WALTERSDORF-JONSDORF

Sporty, lots to see, fine break places. This tour is fun!

Your starting place is the guard at the pedestrian crossing Waltersdorf, mark 3061. You are riding a touring bike? Do not worry! Although this has some mountain bike character at the beginning: You have to cycle uphill for the 600 m, which only a few will do anyway - even on a bad surface. But then: In the middle, a picturesque view compensates for Falken and Rabenstein. Continue on a paved forest road downhill to the sulfur spring worth seeing. Soon after, there is more to see. You cross a local connecting road and dive back into the forest towards Dürreberg (638 m). On the north side there's a short, signposted detour to the ice cave, the year round "cool" attraction. Your next stop is the Hammer Reservoir, a legal bathing opportunity. Now the question is: lying down or further? If you have refreshed, the rest of the tour leads you slightly downhill, past a former summer camp to Juliustal (Juliovka). Turn right next to the road after 80 m right (mark 21) and at the crossroads turn left again in the direction of Krombach (Krompach), mark 3055. And now? Take another breath! Until Jonsdorf you have to pack a lot of vertical meters. But as always in the outdoor country you get your balance in the form of beautiful views. Here are old houses, the church in the center and also the old castle. Finally it gets really steep again. Right you have the Hochwald (749 m) - and Jonsdorf is already very close! Behind the last houses of Schanzendorf your goal comes into view: the border crossing to Jonsdorf. Now you have done a lot - and probably you are.
