Itinerary description

The road is beautiful in terms of landscape but there are major construction works in the valley (creation of a huge dam and installation of giant electricity pylons) and therefore the large trucks which circulate damage the road according to the locals. This may be partly true but the road is basically not in great condition.
It's beautiful
In the last village crossed before the hotel there are banks including the Alfalla bank, the only one which allows foreigners to withdraw cash from ATMs. The last time there were banks including this one was in Gilgit. It's really complicated for foreigners to have cash in rupees because you can't change cash (even at the bank it's obviously illegal) and there is only this Alfalla bank which accepts European credit cards (I believe that Chinese cards work)….

I wanted to camp by the river but the power station employees came to pick me up to sleep with them because it is dangerous to camp. For what? Because there are tigers…. Ah good!

Grande descente
We can clearly see the route of the road going down. It's a big, long descent. It feels good even if you have to be careful because the quality of the road is not always great (holes, gravel, river passing on the road, etc.)
