Cycle route following the Vltava river (Moldava), from its source in Kvilda (in the Sumava National Park) to its mouth in the Labe (Elbe), in the city of Mělnik.
The route runs largely through Eurovelo 7, although we have done the "alternative route", not the official one.
In total, there have been 5 stages:
Day 1: Arrival by train to Vimperk, from here by bike to Kvilda, where our adventure begins. Kvilda-Pramen Vltava-Strazny: 23.3 Kms. 259 mts. rise
Day 2: Strazny-Cesky Krumlov: 80.9 Kms. 895 mts. rise
Day 3: Cesky Krumlov-Tyn nad Vltavou: 69 Kms. 640 mts. rise
Day 4.1: Tyn nad Vltavou-Písek: 27.7 Kms. 432 mts. ascent (and the sky opened up over us and the deluge and rain forecast for the whole day fell)
Day 4.2: Due to heavy rain, we make Písek-Karsltejn by train. 109 Kms. 486 mts. rise. A bit of sightseeing to see this legendary castle.
Day 4.3: Karsltejn-Praha. 41.8 Kms. 212 mts. rise. In this section, we leave the Vltava to follow one of its tributaries, the Berounka, until its junction in Praha with the Vtava.
Day 5: Praha-Mělnik. 61.3 Kms. 231 mts. rise
