Itinerary description
Again, an easy rolling stage with intense heat. Road soon cleared up as I get far from big cities and I could enjoy pretty peaceful stretches. The continuous “mingalaba” greetings start to convince me that I am out of the touristic circuit. Road become and endless stream of small villages and you feel really supported by that nice people.
A nice guy in a kiosk in a town gave me away a bunch of bananas for free. When I was going to eat them by the road at the countryside a peasant came in and ask for a banana for his child. This made me think of the great value of the present and the great attitude towards me of Burmese people.
In Taungoo you will find no problem with accommodation. It is a nice city with an interesting Pagoda, some colonial buildings, a park by the lake to walk and relax, and peaceful streets and tons of “mingalabas”.
