Itinerary description

Woodenbridge World War 1 Memorial Park
Another short walk near to the Woodenbridge Hotel. It is located just across from the Hotel on the bank of the Aughrim river.
The Park was created by the local community in the memory of the soldiers, from all parts of Wicklow, who lost their lives in World War 1, There are 1,192 names of the soldiers on stone granite pillars in the park. The site was chosen because it was here in Woodenbridge in 1914, that John Redmond the leader of the Irish Parliamentary Party and a Member of Parliament in London, encouraged Irish men to go to fight in the War.
It is an ideal stroll after breakfast or dinner and is suitable for all ages.
