Camaguey is a port town founded in 1514 - the sixth of Cuba's original seven villas. Within 14 years Camaguey was moved inland. The city is played out in a labyrinthine of streets and narrow squares that were originally meant to confuse pirates. There is a lovely mix of colonial homes and plazas in this well preserved city center. Note: this is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
