Itinerary description

I have a good memory of Vietnam, of its strong nature and of the ability of man to integrate with it, drawing its fruits without forcing.
Unfortunately, comparison with our Western model was inevitable.
The population density in Europe is 73 / km2. We are many and we think that the Western consumer system is the only one able to meet our needs.
In Vietnam the rational use of land and its resources is able to satisfy a population with a density 4 times higher than the European one (292 / km2). The rice fields cover a large part of the territory, from the low plains to the mountains, are the basis of the country's agricultural economy and are a source of strong traditions.
The visit of the high-altitude rice fields of Sa Pa and the ethnic markets of Can Cau and Bac Ha made me understand the importance of this ecosystem and how these people can be in tune with it.
Rice is the primary production, but the environment of the rice fields provides many spontaneous products, the sugar cane and the lush vegetables and meat of the many free-range animals.
People live in rice fields, in many small and humble villages, with a simple and less demanding lifestyle than ours. Of course, cell phones have also arrived there, but the differences with our Western habits are macroscopic. Cars are few, with the many mopeds it transports everything, food is, almost all, zero km.
I met the people of the rice paddies, serene, with many young families and many beautiful smiling children. I have seen children playing happily bare-legged in the water of the rice paddies, with temperatures of 10 º.
The Can Cau market is held every Saturday from 6 am until noon. The market is mainly frequented by the ethnic group of the Flower Hmong, with their traditional costumes consisting of green checked headdresses and multicolored clothing.
