Trogir (Traù in Dalmatian and Italian) is a town and municipality located in Dalmatia, in Split-Dalmatia County, Croatia. According to the 2001 census, the municipality had 12,995 inhabitants, 96.68% of whom were Croats1 and the city alone had 10,907 inhabitants2.
The historic city is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It is built on a small island (about 1 km2) located between the mainland and the island of Čiovo.
