Itinerary description
Avondale House, in Avondale, County Wicklow, Ireland, is the birthplace and home of Charles Stewart Parnell. It is set in the Avondale Forest Park, spanning over 2 km2 (500 acres) of land, approximately 1.5 km from the nearby town of Rathdrum. The river Avonmore flows through the park on its way towards the Irish Sea. The House is now a museum.
The the 1.3km treetop walk in Avondale Forest Park culminates at the spectacular Viewing Tower, 38m above the forest floor with panoramic 360 degree views of the Wicklow Mountains and the Vale of Avoca.
To complete this innovative experience, you have the option to whizz back down the tower via the gigantic 90m spiral slide.
