A short route, to see the beautiful Balea Waterfall. It receives the waters of Lake Superior Bálea, at the highest point of the Transfagarasan Highway, the highest in Europe. It leaves next to the Telecabina that goes up to the port. Where later we will use this one, to carry out this other route Transfagarasan Lago Bálea going down by Valea Doamnei .
The route begins in one of the many curves that the famous Transfagarasan road has in its descent towards Sibiu. An impressive road for its views and the spectacular of the route. Going down from the Bálea lake, we will arrive to the area where the cable car goes up to the lake. There we can leave the car, to begin our route. It is marked with symbols, red circles on white.
The beginning of the path is quite simple, we find ourselves, as we climb a crossroads with other paths to our right, we continue straight ahead. By this crossing we will return in this other route Transfagarasan Lake Bálea going down by Valea Doamnei. We are walking along the river Bálea, we see how the river is making small waterfalls in our path. We are walking in the middle of a beautiful forest of fir trees.
The marks guide us, the path begins to rise little by little, each time with more slope. The terrain is also becoming more complicated. The last part, is a bit more intricate, because you have to go up by the odd stone, without problems.
At last, the roar of the Cascada is heard. It is a true spectacle for the eyes and the ears. It is of great beauty. We stayed a good while and had lunch at his side. Now it's time to go back where we came from, the descent is more comfortable, although in the first descent zone, you have to bend over once. I wish you enjoy the route.
