Itinerary description
Yodha Wewa is a large body of water located a little east of Tissamaharama, Sri Lanka. It is full of waterbirds of all shapes and sizes including white pelicans, cormorants, painted storks, and innumerable smaller birds. There are also fishermen working in their outrigger canoes.
The loop takes you through scenic rice paddies and along the edge of the lake. From the lake to Tissa, it goes through a little neighborhood full of friendly people. It also passes the entrance to the massive, white Tissamaharama Stupa.
