Itinerary description

Visited in November 2016, with recent snow on the ground and still very cold. Highlights were finding a cozy coffee house to relax in, a tremendous local lunch place, and a beautiful rose garden covered in snow.

The historic mansions are mostly converted to other uses and not accessible inside. However they can be viewed from the avenues, and the architecture is probably not much changed.

Use the default satellite image with "labels" turned off, or the "open city map". The Wikiloc default map (by Google) is not correctly georeferenced for China (apparently a policy matter related to Google and China). .

A colonial community center, now with high-end shops and restaurants. The running track and viewing areas are probably not much changed from the days of the foreign legations.

The restaurant entrance is not obvious, best identified by the many office workers flocking there at start of lunch break.
