Nice and short walk around the Staten Island jetty, with beautiful views of the bay and the Manhattan skyline. There is an interesting panoramic dike, from which you can best see all the wide views over the flat horizon of the sea and in the background the unmistakable silhouette of the skyscrapers of the Big Apple. There is also a memorial to the victims of the attacks of September 11, 2001, next to the North Shore Esplanade.
It's easy to get from Manhattan on a regular ferry to Staten Island.
