Itinerary description

The Slopes of Slieve Foye and the Greenway. 171015
This is a combination of parts of two routes I have already published. Starting in Carlingfort, up through Market Street, up the hill, and then taking the pathway to the right up towards the Slieve Foye Forest. When we came to the Picnic Area we took the tared road down to join the R173. There we sought an entrance to the Greenway. (We choose a difficult point to cross, there is a better one 20 meters towards Carlingfort which we did not see). From there we walked past Two Mile Bridge, then the Marina, King John´s Castle, arriving in Carlingfort. A nice walk, suitable for families, but remembering that you have to climb over the gate or walk along the road to an open entrance.
Carlingfort is a lovely historic town with well-preserved ruins, and many Restaurants, Bars and shops. It is well worth a visit.
Bares y tiendas. Vale la pena hacer una visita.

Very pleasant route in the North direction, with good views and beautiful forest.
I must clarify that indeed, there is a further step to reach the R173 Carlingford direction, for the return of this circular, but is 200 meters from the exit to R173, the door that indicates Murray to 20 meters is closed and It can not be opened, so it is necessary to be careful with this section if it is with small children, until the signposted entrance to the greenway.
